I lost my mom to suicide as a result of her addictions when I was twenty-two. Like many adult children of addicts, I have spent the majority of my adult life focused on healing from that trauma, desperate not to follow in her footsteps.
Now, I’m a happily married mother of two, and I’ve come to realize, my mom did so many things right. Prior to and sometimes in spite of her additions, she gave so much of herself to me.
As I raise my babies, I’m often struck with appreciation and admiration of her in the most random of moments. This space is designed to share those happy moments with you. This is dedicated to all of the things She Did Right. I wish I could tell her in person but I can’t. So I’ll tell it to the world.
